Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Company Issued (“Company Issued,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). Our Services include the city-based local discovery platforms operated under the Company Issued brand, including 419 Toledo (419TOL), 313 Detroit (313DET), and 513 Cincinnati (513CIN).
By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who We Are
The Services are operated by Company Issued [insert legal entity name, e.g. Company Issued LLC], located at [insert business mailing address]. For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@companyissued.com.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or other regions with applicable data protection laws, Company Issued is the “data controller” of your personal information processed through the Services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide to us
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and optionally a username, profile photo, and city/region preference.
- Profile and content. Information you add to your profile, and any content you submit — including events you publish, photos and images you upload, comments, reviews, RSVPs, check-ins, saved items, and messages.
- Organizer and business information. If you claim or manage an event, venue, or business page, we collect business name, contact details, ownership/verification information, and related listing content.
- Payment information. If you purchase a subscription or paid feature (for example, a claimed event page or boosted placement), payment is processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number. We receive limited transaction details such as the last four digits, card brand, billing ZIP, and subscription status.
- Communications. Information you provide when you contact us, submit a support request, or fill out a contact form (such as your name, email, and message).
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Device and technical information. Device type, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, app version, language settings, mobile network information, browser type, and IP address.
- Usage information. How you interact with the Services — pages and events viewed, searches, taps, features used, time spent, referring pages, and crash and diagnostic data.
- Location information. With your permission, we collect precise or approximate location from your device to surface nearby events and places and to enable features like check-ins. You can control location access through your device settings at any time. We may also infer approximate location from your IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies. On our websites we use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, security, and analytics. See Section 8.
2.3 Information from third parties
- Sign-in providers. If you choose to sign in with a third-party provider (such as Apple or Google), we receive basic profile information permitted by that provider and your settings.
- Public and partner sources. Event, venue, and organization information that is publicly available or supplied by partners and organizers for listing in the discovery feed.
2.4 Check-ins and attendance data
When you check in to a venue or event, we record that check-in — the place, the date and time, and any rating you add — as part of your account activity, and we keep a history of these check-ins (your “attendance history”). We use this data to: power your personalized recommendations and picks; award passport points and badges; and, in aggregated and/or de-identified form, understand attendance trends and improve the Services.
Your attendance history is private to you. It is shown only on your own profile and is not visible to other users. In any public or social feature (such as leaderboards), you are identified only by your chosen @handle — never by your real name. We do not sell your attendance history, and we do not share it with advertisers or partners in a form that identifies you personally. You can stop new check-ins from being collected by not checking in, and you can delete your check-in history by deleting your account (see Section 6.2).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- power the local discovery feed and personalize content and recommendations;
- use your check-in and attendance history to generate personalized recommendations, picks, points, and badges (see Section 2.4);
- show you events and places relevant to your location and interests;
- enable publishing, claims, RSVPs, check-ins, photo uploads, and sharing;
- process subscriptions and payments and manage organizer/business features;
- send push notifications, alerts, and service-related communications;
- respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
- monitor, moderate, and review content to keep the feed trustworthy and safe;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues;
- measure performance and understand how the Services are used (analytics);
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where required, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Services), our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the Services), your consent (for example, for precise location, push notifications, or certain analytics), and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information as follows:
- Publicly, at your direction. Content you choose to make public — such as published events, photos, reviews, public profile details, and comments — is visible to other users and the general public. In public and social features (such as leaderboards), we identify you by your chosen @handle rather than your real name.
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who process data on our behalf, including hosting and database/authentication (Supabase), payments (Stripe), analytics, crash reporting, push notification delivery, email delivery, and content storage. They may only use the data to provide services to us.
- Partners and embeds. Publicly listed event and venue data may be made available through our versioned partner API and embeds. This does not include your account credentials or private account information.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law, legal process, or government requests; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Company Issued, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent. We may share information for other purposes with your consent.
5. Payments
Payments for subscriptions and paid features are processed by Stripe. Where tickets are sold, purchases occur on the organizer’s or a third party’s ticketing site — we link out and do not process those ticket payments. Your use of these third-party payment and ticketing services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
6. Your Choices and Rights
6.1 Account information
You can review and update your account and profile information at any time within the app or website.
6.2 Account & data deletion
You can delete your account directly within the app at any time (Settings → Account → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your profile and associated personal information from active systems, subject to the retention exceptions in Section 9. You may also request deletion by emailing privacy@companyissued.com or by visiting our deletion page at companyissued.com/privacy/delete. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law.
6.3 Permissions
You control device permissions — location, camera, photos, and notifications — through your device settings. Turning off a permission may limit related features (for example, you must allow camera or photo access to upload images).
6.4 Push notifications and marketing
You can opt out of push notifications in your device settings and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails. We may still send you non-promotional, service-related messages.
6.5 Tracking and advertising choices
On Apple devices, we will request your permission through App Tracking Transparency before tracking you across other companies’ apps or websites, if we engage in such tracking. You can change this in your device settings. On the web, you can manage cookies through your browser.
6.6 Regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents (CCPA/CPRA) have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. EEA/UK residents (GDPR) have the rights described above and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any right, contact privacy@companyissued.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@companyissued.com and we will take steps to delete it. Users between the applicable minimum age and 18 should use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
8. Cookies and Analytics
On our websites we use strictly necessary cookies (for login, security, and preferences) and analytics technologies that help us understand usage and improve the Services. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect functionality. In our apps, we use similar technologies and software development kits (SDKs) for analytics, crash reporting, and notifications.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and afterward as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Content you published publicly may remain visible if it has been shared by others or is part of public event records, but we will disassociate it from your account upon deletion where reasonably possible.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and an architecture in which only our API touches the database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials confidential.
11. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States and process information there and in other countries where our service providers operate. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
The Services contain links to third-party websites and services (including ticketing, organizer, and venue sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Policy with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, through the Services or by email. Your continued use of the Services after the update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
